Aaahhh welcome to my home. The first thing you might notice is how white all the walls are. I promise you I am not in love with them either, I am making color decisions....I'm a really poor decision maker. Anyways this is what you'll see when you come to the front door.
Half way up the stairs I turned around and took this shot. That's what you'll see when you look to the right.
Yup. A giant basket to put your shoes in. Why, you might ask would I have a giant basket to put your shoes in? My sister told me about the basket and the idea when I moved into my first house, and I was really protective of my nice new light colored carpet. Now, its because I have an infant who loves to crawl over the carpet, and he puts his hands in his mouth no less than 4,826 times a day. I counted.
I do try to say this in the nicest way possible, I even tried to cute-sy it up. However if you don't OBEY the sign I will remember who you are, and chances are I will visit your house one day, and I'll do something to get you back.....Like say, put your toothbrush in your toilet, so I feel better about my baby putting your shoe germs in his mouth. Plus, I'm somewhat close to having another infant and if I have two infants on my carpet your shoes could very well put me in the loony bin.
Okay, maybe I'm not that passive aggressive, but you'll really bother me. I promise.
Moving on... Sorry I have a tendency to go off on tangents.
Here is a look down the hallway. Trust me it really isn't that long.
This is the main bathroom. Only it's not my main bathroom, because you see mine is in my bedroom and it has a straightener in the sink, a blow dryer on the floor, hairspray on the counter tops, and probably my bath towels flung over the shower bar, and quite frankly that's just not space I'm ready to share with the public...Unless your going to pee your pants.
This is another view, the only difference is you can see the shower curtain.
And, now we take a turn into my baby's room. It's not very decorated, because I'm going to have another baby and they are going to share rooms, I procrastinated way to long to decorate and make paint decisions, and now I'm pregnant again so I get to wait even longer....That's good for me.
This is the view from in front of his closet. Not much different.
Yet, another view only now we are on the way out.... Oh, by the way reading is really important to us.
Now we are in my bedroom.I need ideas for what to put up above my bed, It's so bare and it taunts me every day I go in there, and the bare space shouts to me "Please cover me up!!" If you've got any great ideas please let me know. That dog bed has quite a funny story with it. when I'm out of things to blog about, I'll share that story. It's been bare since the first of November. I'm sure it misses Tally as much as she misses it. Who wouldn't miss a real feather bed, and no I'm not kidding.
This is the view from the door. This is my husbands side of the bed, look at how neat he keeps his night stand. He bugs me. Let me tell you about my love for my duvet. First you buy your feather or down comforter inside thingy I'll try to remember what it's really called, next you zip on down to Ikea and get yourselves a cover or two. We have three. Next you get rid of all your top sheets and blankets. Then, you sleep under said duvet, and you stay warmer and cozier than you ever have before. Every morning you wake up and you feel like a queen. And when its time to wash your sheets you just slip off the cover like a pillow case and wash it with your regular sheets. It saves an laundry and comfort. If you ever learn anything from me please learn this.
We converted three years ago, and I'm never going back!
Drum roll please....
Last but not least our closets. Everyone take a guess who the A-Type person in the family would be.
His closet.
Her closet.
Go ahead guess....
Please don't ask me why I'm weird about having shoes on my carpet, even though I have two indoor dogs. I'm allowed to be OCD somewhere in my life, because I don't eat the food on my plate one serving at a time, and I just pop all the m&m's into my mouth without color coding them or putting them in rainbow order.
I'll get to more when I have more time. I do have a kitchen, family room and a basement.

If I ever left my shoes on at your house I am very sorry. Next time you are at mine, I am hiding My toothbrush.
You are so funny. I don't think I will ever go to your house but if I do rest assured that I have learned the shoes off lesson.
I must agree with you about the down comforter and the duvet cover. That is all I sleep under now and like you said it is a breeze to clean.
That deleted comment was me, sorry. I read what I wrote and it does NOT make sense.
OK, here we go again: First off, I can't wait to come visit (although I may have to wait until the summer so I have flip flops I can easily slide on and off).
Secondly, I've totally decided what you need to put above your bed (I love giving decorating ideas like this because I love decorating).
You see those fun colored toss pillows on your bed? Which I LOVE, by the way. Well these are my inspiration for this idea. You should go to the craft store and pick up a few different kinds of craft/scrapbooking paper in some fancy/more decorative designs which also match the pillow colors. The 12 x 12 size is best because then you can fill 2-3 frames with some of the sheets. Then you frame these in several different shapes and sizes of picture frames. You can either do frames that match each other, or it might even be fun to paint some frames several fun colors that match your theme (the craft store is probably a good spot for cheaper paint-able frames). I would use mattes in some and not in others too. And if you wanted, you could even add in some family photos that you love (and Costco prints 'em for fairly cheap in several sizes). Sepia would probably look best.
Then, you take all the filled frames and map out a "collage" then hang up on that blank wall.
And then invite me over to come see it.
Love this post. Love the new place. We need to make a date to come see it.
But you aren't invited to meet my toothbrush ;)
I love that you shared your house pictures. I love to see how people decorate. As for your room I am a fan of the wedding picture above the bed. Sorry, but it's intimate and that room is supposed to be an intimate place right? Darling house and that was fun to read.
