Milestones

Pay no attention to the cottage cheese in the boys thighs, I have absolutely no clue which of his parents he inherited that from. I have never ever seen that before. If you say it might be me, I'd deny it.

In honor of my baby being a year I'm going to tell you all about him.

Rowdy weighs 22 lbs, he is 31 inches long. He's a dang big boy. He's taller than nine out of ten boys his age.

He currently has 8 teeth and he's had two haircuts, he's still bald. Not scruffy, just bald.

He crawls over everything, pulls himself up on everything, and gets into everything. He is terrified of standing on his own and even more scared of the thought of walking. He's pretty tender if he falls he needs reassurance and a little love. He's figured out how to go up and down the stairs, he goes down them in the most complicated way, but he figured it out on his own and it works for him. Maybe a preshow of his future, I'm not sure. He is really good at finding ways to entertain himself, He empties all the baskets and drawers that he can open. He loves opening and shutting all the doors in the house by using the doorstop on the bottom.

The words he says are Stacy, dadda, Tally, Scooter, Hello, up, down, don't, ball, bath, more, and all done.

His favorite games are peek-a-boo, and patty cake. He loves wheels and balls. His favorite snack is fruit, and crackers. He is a very good eater and will try everything. Food is his most happy place. He loves to take off his shoes, and loves putting on his daddy's hat. He loves playing with the remote and mommy's cell phone.

Rowdy has figured out how to play tug-of-war with Tally and loves to play with her all day whether she wants to play or not. She is his little buddy. Rowdy is also figuring out how to feed himself with a spoon and a fork. He's still a little clumsy with it but he's pretty determined to get it.

Rowdy has been the greatest addition to our family. He knows how to make everyone in our house perk up. I'm so proud of him for trying new things and getting braver every day. I love him more than my words can describe.

Happy Birthday Rowdy (Sshh it's a little late)

Okay it's quite a bit late, on the 7th it was my babies first birthday. It was a mix of emotions for me, he's getting big so fast. We took extra care to make sure he was well fed, and well napped so he could be pleasant for his party. I think it all went pretty well.

We had great guest list. We invited all of the aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that live the closest to us. Thanks to you all for making the hour or more drive to come and celebrate with us. I hope nobody left hungry.

It was fun for Red and I to come up with some birthday traditions that we'd like to share with all of our kids. We got Rowdy his own smash cake that he was able to enjoy without sharing. I'm sure we'll do this with all of our babies.

But the rest of us had a cake that was free of baby germs. It was a little more clean and adult.

We got Rowdy two balloon boquets, but I only took a picture of one, not sure where my mind was. Oh well.

Then we moved on to presents I think Rowdy was a bit overwhelmed, he's never had an overload of toys coming at him that fast. He was quite a sport, he showed interest in each one then was happy to move on to the next.

Some toys were a little more useful (in an aggressive way) than others. That's my boy!

Rowdy loved the assortment of gifts, everyone was very generous.

With all of his cousins being little kids, and he not really knowing how a party is done, the kids decided it was time to do cake and ice cream.

This by liked his cake.

I was all about him making a mess, he's only going to turn 1 once. We stripped him down to his diaper and let him have at it. Smart move stripping him down, I can't imagine the mess if I'd have left his clothes on.

He was such a happy boy, I was so glad he was in a good mood.

The blue frosting was great, if your looking for a good color go with blue, it doesn't stain on clothes, only your tongue. And it was easy to clean off of skin and his high chair. The only down side was when you change your babies diaper and its the same color as his birthday cake. Probably more than you wanted to know but it's the way I roll.

He's a lucky by to have so many girls come to his birthday party. I hope they all had a good time, I don't have any girl stuff or older girl stuff to entertain them.

P.S. Thanks to blackeyedsue, and my super cool brother in law "J" for making sure I have video and pictures of plenty to chose from, it totally wasn't on my mind at all. I'm glad you helped out in that department.

P.S.S Next year I'm renting the party room at the rec-center and when the party is done we can all go swimming, because next year I'd better not be pregnant and I'll be brave enough to dawn a swimming suit.

P.S.S.S Please pray I'm not pregnant next year.
