Flood Irrigating

Out here in the sticks, sprinkler systems aren't all that common, no matter how much you wish they were. Secondary water is outrageously priced. Where I live water is gold. On Sunday we got to skip church because we had a "water turn." We get the privilege of flood irrigating. It's a pain sometimes and fun sometimes too.

We have a big pipe in the front yard, and we have to connect this plastic pipe to it, then we move the pipe to the part of the lawn where we want the water to go. It's kind of a quick process but definitely a two person job.

Cowboy has the water pipe watering the corner of the lawn and he will remove the section in a bit and direct the water to another corner of the lawn.

The object is to flood your yard entirely so that you won't have to do it again for another week. It gets pretty deep, and the grass will bubble where the lawn really needs it.

We would be fools to wear anything but flipflops!

Irrigating is a family affair at our house, it really is pretty fun, if you ever want to bring your kiddos to play its better than sprinklers!

I'll let you know when we get a water share at a descent time and not 4a.m. Those are never that fun, not even for us!

I love my Dogs!

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this, but I love my dogs, I love animals but I specifically love my dogs.

Meet "Lassie"

Meet "Kujo"

They're both girls. They both love being outside and playing.

This is why we call her "Kujo'" don't worry, they are just playing, there were no animals harmed in the making of this post.

"Hey Kujo I see you have no tail, that bites!"

"I might not have a tail, but I can run faster than you!"

"Okay, Okay, Let's call a truce.

"Sounds great, I could use a breather."

"What're you lookin' at?"

"JUST KIDDING"

"Last one through the fence is a rotten egg!"

"Lassie" loves to see what Buckaroo is doing!

Hhhmmmm...... Not to much excitement. Maybe in a few years Buckaroo.

Springtime in the Sticks!

We had a wind storm recently and my tree broke, I call it my tree, because I am kindred with it. I love to look at at and it comes with so much character. My nieces love to climb on it and my smallest pooch "lassie" loves to climb on it and my goats love to eat from its branches, and birds love to perch in it and.... oh yeah, back to the story. One of the main branches/log fell over (broke) off.

See the damage.

"Lassie" saw the damage and when she saw it she saw a new escape route, have I ever mentioned this dog loves to climb and escape and jump and perch herself up high?

It gave Cowboy a chance to bust out his trusty sidekick aka his beloved chainsaw and they went to town!

Only minor damage was done to this fence, Cowboy tells me he can fix it. You rock Cowboy!

He knows how to work hard and he never complained that I just chat with him while does all the hard work. Check out his arm muscles....Mmmm....

Back off..he's taken/smitten, I gave him that chainsaw.

Sorry pup, I guess you'll have to be more creative if you don't want to be confined, I'm not sure why you try so hard to leave. I try to make it a nice place for you. Someday you just might be content.

3 Months!!

This is a pretty late entry, don't hold it against me. My baby is three months and its killing me. I feel like time is going by so fast. Buckaroo has really opened his eyes this last month and is alert for such a long time. Food is his biggest comfort. He started smiling and trying to talk, his talking is a bit more like squeaking.

His little fists are starting to unclench. he opens and shuts them all day long. He is so funny with his tongue in, out, in, out.....just like a lizard. He is getting better at finding his thumb, fingers, or the back of his hand when he wants something to suck on.

He is wearing 0-3 month clothes and right at the first of the month he made the transition to size 1 diapers. he could still fit in the newborns, but I am sick of buying him diapers and we got so many size 1's for shower gifts I decided to put those to use.

Buckaroo started sleeping through the night and we are a much happier family.

Sweet Boy!! I can't believe you are growing up so fast. I love you and I want you to be my baby forever. You have opened my eyes in ways I can't believe, You're our little miracle baby, and your worth everything it took to get you here. I love you baby buckaroo!

Our own trip to Kona Hawaii, lots of pictures included

I'm back after a little vacation to Kona, Hawaii, and quite the bloggy breather. Sorry I've been gone for so long, I have missed you all, really. I'm glad to be back. I will be posting quite a bit in the next few days because I have so much to catch up on.

Kona was beautiful. it was only blue skies twice, and the rest of the time the island was covered and overcast from the volcano fog.

Lil' Buckaroo only had one cousin to entertain him, it's all good, Liliana is good company.

Cowboy hangin' loose in Hawaii!

See those two people sitting above the falls, that's me and Cowboy. It was beautiful from the top.

This is a crab that my bro-in-law M caught, he made me put it in my hands but it didn't stay long enough to snag a picture. I've turned into such a girl!

Don't mind my hair it's crazy out of control, Cowboy loves me anyway.

We took a scenic route, ended up going coconut hunting. These were our spoils.

When we got back Cowboy was the only one who wanted to do the hard work it took to open those coconuts.

If I were ever stranded on an island with only coconuts I would starve!

Cowboy is a different story, he really likes coconuts!

We attempted to have a swim party with Buckaroo, he was only a good sport until his junk got wet, then he was done.

Swimming was exhausting!

This was a little friend he lived on the patio and was always around.

We spent time snorkeling at different beaches on the island.

The babies were good sports. The salt water didn't bother them.

I bashed my leg into some coral, it hurt worse than it looks.

Soakin' up the sun! (through the spf and the fog)

Beach Bums!

I broke the law and touched this sea turtle. Shhhh. Don't tell.

We went to a luau and ate Kahlua pork.

The entertainment was good. It was cute, when the dancers would come out Buckaroo was totally fixated and watched intently.

Cowboys Brother Jay got selected to dance on stage and learn the Hula, he's supposed to be watching this girls hips and mimicking her moves, I don't think that what he's lookin' at. What do you think?

Oh, this is funny....We could rent a baby bed for $30 for the week, but Cowboy is inventive and we ended up keeping the cash! Way to go Cowboy!! That's all I have to say about that.

Wow!! This was such a long post, if you made to the end you deserve a trip to Hawaii for yourself.
